Full Job Description

As the first major point of contact in assisting a customer’s needs; our Water Mitigation Technicians will provide the first line of defense for homes and businesses by supporting the cleanup and restoration of water, fire, smoke, sewage, and mold damaged property.

This position reports to the Mitigation Manager/Associates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform emergency response and ongoing work for water, fire, storm, and mold damage jobs according the IICRC standards of care.
  • Work with Managers to evaluate new losses for scope of work to be performed.
  • Evaluate all job sites for safety hazards and work in a safe manner, including wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Get work authorizations, certificate of satisfaction, and necessary documents signed on all jobs.
  • Document daily job progress in detail in Paul Davis’s suit of job management software.
  • Take and document moisture readings.
  • Place and operate drying equipment based on IICRC standards of care.
  • Operate truck mounted and portable water extraction units.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document daily drying progress in MICA or other required drying tracking software.
  • Build containment according to the needs of each job and the IICRC standards of care.
  • Perform demolition, when necessary, as part of the agreed scope of work, or when required by the IICRC standards of care.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Drive company vehicles stocked with appropriate equipment to each loss.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma/GED, or combination of experience (with required training)
  • Prior Experience in a physical labor position preferred, but not necessary.
  • Able to pass Background Check.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsive sense of urgency.
  • Being tech savvy is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize business needs.
  • Attention to detail. An ability to prioritize, work within deadlines, and maintain objectives.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Must be a team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Able to perform work under pressure.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving & multitasking.
  • Able to join on call rotation.
Working Conditions:
  • Construction environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and fumes.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • May require standing or walking for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs and be able to climb ladders.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
Equipment Used:
  • Microsoft O365 consisting of Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, and other software applications include Xactimate, Symbility, Job Management Software (RMS), etc.
  • Laptop, iPad/tablets, smartphones
  • Basic hand tools, including hammer and prybar.
  • Oscillating Multi-tools and blades
  • Battery operated drill gun and screwdriver
