JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration, and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm, and other disasters. Two basic elements to keep in mind as you consider the role summarized below:
  
1. As a Sales Associate, you will be required to attend every loss site after it has been reported to us by an insurance company or property owner and present Paul Davis services in such a way that the property owner agrees to commit to using our services. To be successful, it is imperative that your first impression establishes the integrity of what we promise – which is summarized in our vision as: “providing extraordinary care while serving people in their time of need.” Securing these opportunities is critical to your success.
 
2. As a Project Manager, you will be required to oversee each project in its entirety by monitoring the performance of multiple teams engaged in the project delivery, ensuring the project is completed within a pre-established life-cycle. Your job is to make sure we deliver what we commit to the customer. The process of a claim life-cycle and what you will be responsible for is outlined as follows:
 
a. Day 1 of the Claim: Intake Assigns PM to the job. PM attends site, completes scoping the magnitude of the loss to be used to build an estimate that identifies the work to be done to return the property back to its pre-loss condition. This will include photos, necessary measurements and any important information from the customer. Upload 12-hr report, photos to Xactanalysis from RMS.
 
b. Day 1 – 2: Emergency work begins after work auth has been collected. Dispatch Mitigation/Abatement/Demolition Team who will be responsible for dealing with the emergency and preparing the loss site so that repairs can be initiated. Ensure ICC / Asbestos samples are taken as needed. Dispatch necessary sub-trades for work quotes (Flooring vendor, Electricians, Plumbers, Specialty Trades. Schedule Day 3 Meeting.
 
c. Day 3: Take post demo photos, finalize scope of emergency and rebuild scope. Walk the Insured through what is included in the scope. Set expectations with the insured on the next steps. Estimating Team will be responsible for creating an estimate from the scope document that includes line items and prices for each element identified as work that needs to be performed. Ensure all post demo photos are uploaded to XA/RMS. Emergency function completed. Psychometric readings if necessary. Confirm Quotes are being submitted by sub-trades. Complete any information necessary for re-build scope. Estimate will be forwarded to adjuster after entire package is complete.
 
d.  Day 4: Review Estimate, import to RMS and begin necessary work orders and preparing the job budget. Call insured, get work auth signed, ensure deductible is paid. Dispatch Work Orders to Production.
 
e. Ongoing: Update file continuously with notes from carrier, customer.
 
f. Close Job: Celebrate with customer. Review job costs.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Restoration or construction background.
  • Project Management skills and training is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team player skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects whilst making sure the customer is taken care of. 
  • The ability to handle conflict and think on your feet. 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize. 
  • Advanced ability to influence, persuade and negotiate project resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Advanced proficiency to develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders. 
  • Highly motivated and quality driven. 
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario Health and Safety Act. 
  • Possess a continuous improvement and quality mindset along with a desire to seek and incorporate best practices and technologies to optimize project delivery and deliver value to the client.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications in particular – MS Excel, MS Outlook, along with the ability to quickly learn new applications. 
  • Maintain a level of confidentiality.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle.

Applicant Requirements/General Information
 
This position includes field inspections, securing business opportunities, overseeing multiple projects of varying sizes, and managing each project life-cycle. At times it may also be necessary to participate in A/R collections. Previous construction management and/or insurance restoration experience considered to be an asset. College degree preferred.
