Job Title: Property Restoration Estimator

Job Summary:
 We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Repair Estimator to join our team in the disaster mitigation and repair industry. In this role, you will assess and estimate the costs of repairing properties damaged by water, fire, storms, and other disasters. You will work closely with clients, insurance adjusters, and restoration teams to provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive repair estimates, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for helping property owners recover from catastrophic events.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct on-site inspections of properties affected by water damage, fire damage, storm damage, or other disasters to assess the scope of repairs needed. 
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mitigation and restoration projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. 
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Xactimate, Symbility) to generate accurate and competitive bids. 
  • Collaborate with project managers, mitigation technicians, and contractors to ensure estimates align with project timelines and scope. 
  • Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters, property owners, and stakeholders to explain estimates, scope of work, and repair processes. 
  • Review and interpret insurance policies, scopes of loss, and adjuster reports to ensure compliance and maximize claim accuracy. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness in repair and restoration processes. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry standards related to disaster repair. 
  • Provide detailed documentation and reports to support estimates and project planning. 
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing with vendors and subcontractors as needed.
Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in disaster mitigation, water damage restoration, or property repair. 
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Xactimate, Symbility, or similar tools. 
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and repair processes related to water mitigation, fire restoration, and storm damage recovery. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills to interact with clients, insurance professionals, and team members. 
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Certification in water damage restoration (e.g., IICRC WRT) or related fields is a plus. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience working with insurance claims and adjusters in the disaster restoration industry. 
  • Background in project management or coordination within construction or restoration. 
  • Familiarity with environmental remediation processes (e.g., mold mitigation).
