Job Title: Field Documentation Specialist
Reports To: Vice President of Finance and Estimating
Serves: Property Owners, Property Managers, Insurance Carriers, and Team Members

Position Overview: This position is part of the Estimating team that serves the Project Management Team by gathering, processing, and distributing job site documentation including a variety of imaging, material sampling, and written reports.  Timely and thorough documentation is used to create and support estimates for insurance claim settlements and work contracts. Further, the Field Documentation Specialist will assist with continuous improvements in all aspects of estimating.

Responsibilities:
·        Work closely with the Project Management Team to provide timely documentation during all project phases, including support on an emergency basis as needed
·        Use imaging technologies such as photos, Matterport, DocuSketch, and Hover to gather visual documentation
·        Use hand and power tools to collect and process finish material samples for determining like kind and quality
·        Test materials for the presence of lead; collect and submit material samples for asbestos analysis
·        Assist with monitoring and documentation of water damage mitigation jobs
·        Manage risk by creating pre-existing conditions reports and communicating any observed job site concerns
·        Create before/after imaging and reports as needed to support sales and marketing efforts
·        Properly upload and distribute documentation materials to the job management system and interested parties
·        Assist with T&M clerking and billing
·        Maintain equipment and imaging databases
·        Generate floor plans using Xactimate/Symbility software
·        Follow relevant industry trends in technology and best practices for documenting property damage and make recommendations to improve existing equipment and processes
·        Contribute to continuous improvement in all aspects of estimating through technology, process improvement, pricing research, and constructive feedback
·        Assist with training of new and existing employees
·        Other duties as assigned

 
Requirements: 
Required:
·        High School diploma
·        Valid driver’s license and insurable motor vehicle record
·        Technology 
·        Experience with tablet, smartphone (iPad / iPhone preferred but not required) and Windows-based PC
 
Preferred:
·        Basic familiarity with construction, hand tools, and simple power tools
·        Experience with image capture – photography / videography, lighting, Matterport or other 3D capture, time lapse photography, etc.
·        Experience with DASH, Xactimate and/or Symbility
·        Wisconsin DHS certified Lead-Safe Renovator and/or Asbestos Inspector 
·        FAA-certified UAS / Remote Pilot (drone pilot)
 
Physical Requirements:
·        Pass a “fit for duty” exam, including but not limited to: able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time; work in low, crouching, or other challenging postures; lift up to 50 pounds, work in a respirator, work in a Tyvek suit 
·        Able to access and navigate attics and crawlspaces
·        Able to climb ladders and inspect roofs when necessary
·        Able to use hand tools and power tools to collect material samples
