Are you seeking to leverage your expertise in a role that offers varied and challenging work? Our company, a leading parent organization that owns and operates 340+ franchise locations across North America, is seeking a new Paralegal for our corporate team. 

This position has the primary responsibility of supporting the attorneys in the legal department, including case management, investigations, administrative support, transactional document drafting, research, and business analyst functions. In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and seamless execution of reporting, tracking of legal issues, and administrative support on behalf of the Legal Team.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with Legal and Operations team members to maintain franchise standards
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to the company’s operations
  • Organize, manage, and maintain legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and management of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and execution
  • Support the company's compliance efforts by researching and understanding relevant regulations and laws
  • Assist with litigation matters, including gathering evidence and preparing discovery responses and arbitration filings
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing correspondence
  • Prepare presentations/spreadsheets 
  • Manage and generate monthly reports 
  • Claims tracking and quarterly updates
  • Schedule and confirm travel itineraries, including air, rental car, hotel, and event registrations 
  • Schedule and manage meetings for team events
  • Field telephone calls and e-mail directed to the CAO/GC for team follow-up
  • Draft simple routine legal documents for review by attorneys
  • Maintain filing systems regarding client-specific communications or documentation 
  • Serve as liaison between our offices, franchisees, vendors, and team 
  • Perform research/analytics and reports on industry-specific topics as requested 
  • Produce PowerPoint presentations by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics 
  • Ability to follow our company’s Vision, Values, Mission, and 10 serving basics  
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

  • Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time 
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents 
  • Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone 
  • Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
Work Environment:
The employee will be working remotely in their home office and at the corporate office and will be exposed to normal conditions of air conditioning and heat. Most work will be conducted over email, video conferencing, and telephone.  Employees must have access to a stable internet connection when working remotely. Employees must use the provided technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision.

Travel: 
This position may require up to 5% travel.  This position may require travel for company meetings and events, training, and at least one day per week, work at the corporate office in Jacksonville.
