QUICK OVERVIEW – TL;DR (please read this section first)

Our client is hiring an Associate Mitigation Project Manager (APM) — a high-potential, coachable future Project Manager to join a fast-growing restoration business based in New York.

This is not a dead-end support role. This is a structured, hands-on training and development position designed to turn strong operators into full Project Managers running their own projects, clients, and production.

You will train directly under a Senior Mitigation PM (based in New York), learn the full job lifecycle end-to-end, and progressively take ownership of your own mitigation projects as you ramp.

THE WHY
This is the part of the construction industry that exists to help people and businesses during hard days — floods, burst pipes, mold, and major property losses.

You’ll do meaningful, urgent work, build real technical and operational skill, and see tangible impact from what you do every day.

THE WHERE
Based in New York (NYC / Metro NY area)
Occasional support of jobs in New Jersey (as needed)
• This is a field-forward role — job sites and in-person coordination are a core part of the work

THE WHO
Our client is one of the leading restoration and reconstruction companies in the country, operating in nearly 400 markets.

This New York operation is one of the larger, faster-growing markets in the system — with strong leadership, a people-first culture, and real opportunity for growth.

THE ROLE – WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO
As an Associate Mitigation Project Manager, you will:

• Train directly under a Senior Mitigation Project Manager
• Learn how to scope and manage water, mold, and environmental losses
• Build strong fundamentals in documentation (photos, notes, job files, moisture logs)
• Learn industry software like DocuSketch, Xactimate, and Symbility
• Support inspections, measurements, job planning, and field coordination
• Coordinate crews, equipment, vendors, and schedules
• Communicate professionally with customers, building staff, and adjusters
• Progressively take ownership of smaller mitigation projects end-to-end with supervision
• Build toward managing a book of work as a full Project Manager

This is a learn-by-doing role. You will be in the field, in the details, and in real situations from day one.

THE CAREER PATH
This role is designed as a launchpad:

• Phase 1: Structured training + shadowing
 • Phase 2: Owning smaller projects with oversight
 • Phase 3: Promotion to Mitigation Project Manager based on competence, consistency, and performance

High performers can move quickly.

YOUR DNA

• You’re hungry to learn a real trade and build a real career
 • You’re organized, dependable, and take pride in doing things the right way
 • You like being in the field and solving problems in real time
 • You communicate clearly and professionally
 • You don’t disappear when things get stressful — you get sharper
 • You want responsibility, not just a paycheck
• You want a path into leadership and project ownership

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for someone with:

• Construction, mitigation, restoration, trades, or operational experience (nice to have, not required)
 • Strong organization and follow-through
 • Comfort working with customers and field teams
 • Willingness to learn estimating, documentation, and job management systems
 • A high standard for professionalism and quality

REQUIRED / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Required:
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfort working in the field and on job sites
• Strong communication skills
• Basic comfort with technology (phones, apps, tablets/computers)

Preferred (but not required):
• Mitigation/restoration experience
• Exposure to Xactimate, Symbility, DocuSketch (or similar)
• Prior field coordination, crew leadership, or project support experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Total expected compensation range (base + performance incentives): $60,000 – $95,000+ (uncapped upside tied to production and performance)

As you progress toward a full PM role, earning potential increases meaningfully through commissions and production-based incentives.

Benefits include:
 • Medical plans available
 • Paid time off and holidays
 • Car and phone allowance (or equivalent support)
 • 401(k) with match
 • Training, mentorship, and structured career development
