Paul Davis Ottawa & Lanark is looking for an experienced Large Loss Project Manager – Commercial to lead complex, high-value restoration and reconstruction projects.
We need an experienced PM who can take ownership of major losses from initial response through estimating, production, financial management, invoicing and final closeout. What You'll Own
You will manage the full lifecycle of commercial and large-loss projects, including:
- Lead projects from initial assignment through completion and closeout
- Manage emergency mitigation and reconstruction projects
- Develop scopes and review Xactimate estimates, budgets and schedules
- Own project profitability and gross margin performance
- Manage supplements and change orders
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, consultants and vendors
- Lead site and pre-construction meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation in RMS, Xactimate and Encircle
- Maintain accurate four-week project forecasts
- Ensure budgets, POs and work orders are established before work proceeds
- Manage timely invoicing and Accounts Receivable follow-up
- Identify project risks early and drive them to resolution
Client & Commercial Relationships
You will be one of the primary faces of Paul Davis on our largest projects, working with commercial property owners, property managers, adjusters, consultants, engineers, brokers and other stakeholders. You'll manage expectations, solve problems and build relationships that lead to repeat business.
You'll also support the growth of our commercial and large-loss division through client engagement, networking and industry events.
Technical Leadership
You should be comfortable managing complex commercial projects involving structural and building-envelope components, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, water and fire mitigation, advanced structural drying, environmental hazards, building codes, permitting and commercial site safety.
You don't need to perform every technical function, but you need the construction and restoration knowledge to lead the project, challenge information when necessary and make sound decisions.
Financial Accountability
You will be accountable for estimating and scope accuracy, budgeting, cost control, gross profit performance, change orders, invoicing, AR follow-up and financial forecasting.
Successful project delivery means quality work, an exceptional client experience and strong financial performance.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of restoration or construction project management experience
- Experience managing large-loss, complex or commercial projects
- Strong construction knowledge
- Xactimate experience
- Strong estimating, budgeting and financial management skills
- Ability to manage contractors and multiple projects
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate independently, make decisions and take ownership
- Valid driver's licence
Experience with commercial insurance losses, RMS, Encircle, environmental remediation and complex building systems is an asset. Bilingualism is also an asset.
Work Requirements
Large losses don't always happen between 9 and 5. This role requires participation in our on-call rotation, availability for significant emergency losses and the ability to travel for CAT events when required.

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
